Danvers, Peabody, Salem, Massachusetts

The towns of Danvers, Peabody and Salem sit on the southern bank of the Danvers River, a tidal river that flows into Beverly Harbor and the Massachusetts Bay, about 15 miles northeast of downtown Boston.

Salem, the home of the witch trials of the 1690s, is a colorful, coastal town with a rich history and rich New England heritage.

The area's main attraction is the Salem Maritime National Historic Site, which was established to preserve and interpret the maritime history of New England and the United States. The Site has a visitor center in downtown Salem and consists of about nine acres of land and twelve historic structures along the waterfront.

Specific points of interest include the renovated Peabody Essex Museum with its beautiful Phillips Library, the Witch History Museum an the The Witch Dungeon Museum.
